Wilshire – Senopati, Jakarta

Last Saturday was my day out with my family. They insisted that they want to try something more French, so I found out that this restaurant was not bad in any review and it had great interiors. Off we went to this place named Wilshire. I heard that they just moved to Senopati area on the second floor of Colette & Lola, Senopati. The Wilshire sign was actually quite big but it was like somehow covered partially by the lush trees around the road so you have to pay a little more attention to the golden sign. Wilshire located at the right hand side of the road. There’s a valet parking outside the restaurant in case you are lazy to park your car or there’s no more place to park. Leave it to them but don’t forget to get your valet ticket.

You could see Colette & Lola from the parking lot because it was full of decorative stickers. If you pay attention to the left, you will find this bridge like path that will guide you to Wilshire. The entrance was just a single glass door. When we went inside, we were greeted by the waiter and he escorted us to the reserved table. I recommend you to make a reservation here if it’s lunch or dinner time, because it will be packed most of the time. Make sure you get a table near the window at the corner of the room where there is a Wilshire sign on the walls. It will be the greatest spot to take photos of the food or even yours because the other tables were like filled with yellow and dim lights even in the daytime. The interiors were so beautiful and had some glam vibe to it. The restaurant will have quieter atmosphere between 2-5 pm, so if you want to take picture without many people, that is the perfect time to come.

We ordered a plate of Salmon with BBQ sauce, Vietnam Style Pork, and African Roasted Chicken. For the drink, we ordered a coffee latte, two mocktails but I forgot to write their name and I lost the receipt, pardon me for that. I also ordered Flaming Varlhona Molten Chocolate Cake. They didn’t serve welcome bread as the other full-fledged French restaurants because I realized that Wilshire is kind of French fusion restaurant. It took around 10 minutes for the drinks to come and it took 15 minutes more until all of the foods were served but we had fun taking photos so time passed by quite fast.

This plate of Salmon with BBQ sauce (around 160k-ish) was quite good. The fish itself was not exactly 100% well done, so it had some raw side to it but we liked it, but if you want it well done, make sure you mention it when you are ordering. The BBQ sauce itself was quite good.

The Vietnam Style Pork (around 160k-ish) was served with this sweet spicy chili sauce plus some chips, totally love it. The pork was so tender and the chips was really good. The highlight of the day. I would like to have this menu if I come again.

My African Roasted Chicken (around 130-ish) was served with the chips and a ginger-like sauce. The sauce itself was so unique and it had some spiciness to it. The meat was tender and the skin was quite crispy. A safe menu for those who loves white meat like me.

The drinks were all great. The two mocktails (around 50k) below were so good because there was fruit slices in them.

The Flaming Varlhona Molten Chocolate Cake (85k) was good but I thought it would lit up when I poured my Whisky, but nothing happened. I was quite taken aback but when I tasted it, it was perfection. I love it how the chocolate, the vanilla ice cream, and the whisky came together and made it a marvelous dessert. I would totally get back here and order this cake one more time. We spent around 800k for three including the tax and services. Not our typical everyday restaurant but if you have a special occasions, this place will be totally worth it.
