Traveling in Eid Holiday this year was very convenient. The road were almost deserted, it felt like i’m abroad. That day, me and my family was going to have lunch somewhere, we hadn’t decided where to eat until I remembered that there’s a french restaurant in Galleries Lafayette at Pacific Place. I remembered the name is Liberte but I didn’t know the exact position of the cafe. It didn’t took us long to find it because there was this big glass with Liberte sticker on it. It was like only 11am, so there was no waiter that guide us inside but fortunately there was a waitress that saw us and hurriedly greet us and took us to the best spot in the restaurant. When I was going into the restaurant, there’s this French atmosphere all around me; with the beautiful wall decorations and tablescape. I’ve always loved anything French. It gives me a feeling of being in love, warm, and it feels like home.
“In France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sports.”
The waitress politely handed us the menu and waited for us to order the menu. Fortunately, there was this promotional package that includes a plate of duck confit plus a glass of iced lemon tea (137k++ per pack) hence we ordered it. I was going to have something more ‘fishy’, so the waitress recommended their signature fish menu which was pan seared barramundi with ratatouille and caramelized apples. I ordered a cup of hot green dragon tea to soothe my sore throat. It’s not my usual style though. So we waited around 20 minutes for the food to come. Actually it’s not a long wait because me and my family were taking pictures like crazy. We were served with welcome bread which was quite good.
The duck confit was good. Although it’s not an amazing one, but at least it was worth the price. The meat was tender enough, the salad was fresh. My humble opinion was that they need stronger sauce to make it tastier.
The barramundi was the highlight of the day. The skin of the fish was so crispy even after I had dipped it in the sauce like several minutes, I love it. The meat was free from any kind of fishy smell. Way to go. You have to order this one if you dine here.
For the dessert, we ordered our usual; a plate of mouthwatering chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, almond, and strawberry sauce. The cake was great, not too sweet and everything was on point. Love it.
I will definitely be back here to try their rosemary infused water, I forgot to order it this time. Sigh. We were too excited with our photos instead of the food. Next time, I will pay more attention to the food. Lol.
