It was a holiday and the day was so beautiful. Bright sun shone upon us and the sky was blue like those in the pictures. A picture of a perfect day. That day, I had a plan in the early morning and the rest of the day was time for culinary trip. I made a plan with my BFF for the rest of the day. He suggested that we should try The Cup, a Korean restaurant in PIK. I have never been there, but he said it was never wrong to try new things. Hence, we proceeded to go there. The Cup is located on the same row of buildings as Sumoboo, Tim Ho Wan, etc. It was not hard to find this place, you could find a banner with their menu outside of the outlet.
There was no restaurant in PIK that could grab my attention until this Saine Daise came into the food scene at PIK. I always love something french. I’ve tried many french restaurants at South Jakarta but I haven’t seen any in North. So, this place instantly moved up to the top of my trip list. There were hundred of pictures about this place that spread all over Instagram, but I will tell my own experience. Saine Daise was located just beside the Legend of Noodle at PIK. You would never find this place if you search low, because Saine Daise is located at the second floor. There is a cake store called EIO on the first floor. So, you might as well search for the EIO golden sign instead of Saine Daise.
Did you guys know there was this coffee shop that became a sensation in Puri area? It was called Simetri and it was located at a housing complex in Puri. The place was so small and always full packed. Me and my bff went there once earlier this year and left the place just because it was totally full. I saw a lot of pictures in Instagram that made me so excited to visit this place. It’s not only about the coffee but the photogenic breakfast.
Jakarta was hotter than ever on previous Sunday. I mean you could literally felt the sun burning up your skin and that wasn’t nice at all. If I’m not mistaken, it was around 2pm. Because of the unfriendly weather, me and my BFF decided to hang out at the dessert cafe called BC’s Cone to chill ourself. I knew it’s not a new dessert cafe, but better late than never, right? We were lucky to be able to park just outside the cafe. PIK were so crowded at that time. I just couldn’t stop complaining about the traffic there. It’s getting worse.

Traveling in Eid Holiday this year was very convenient. The road were almost deserted, it felt like i’m abroad. That day, me and my family was going to have lunch somewhere, we hadn’t decided where to eat until I remembered that there’s a french restaurant in Galleries Lafayette at Pacific Place. I remembered the name is Liberte but I didn’t know the exact position of the cafe. It didn’t took us long to find it because there was this big glass with Liberte sticker on it. It was like only 11am, so there was no waiter that guide us inside but fortunately there was a waitress that saw us and hurriedly greet us and took us to the best spot in the restaurant. When I was going into the restaurant, there’s this French atmosphere all around me; with the beautiful wall decorations and tablescape. I’ve always loved anything French. It gives me a feeling of being in love, warm, and it feels like home.
Last Saturday was my day out with my family. They insisted that they want to try something more French, so I found out that this restaurant was not bad in any review and it had great interiors. Off we went to this place named Wilshire. I heard that they just moved to Senopati area on the second floor of Colette & Lola, Senopati. The Wilshire sign was actually quite big but it was like somehow covered partially by the lush trees around the road so you have to pay a little more attention to the golden sign. Wilshire located at the right hand side of the road. There’s a valet parking outside the restaurant in case you are lazy to park your car or there’s no more place to park. Leave it to them but don’t forget to get your valet ticket.
It’s almost 8pm but me and my friends wanted to chill down, relax, and have some good drinks after rampaging Shao Kao at PIK. One of my friend knew a new and hip place where we could have all that. It’s Holywings. Actually, this place was quite famous and became a topic back then because they invited quite big singers like Raisa, Tompi, etc. But I didn’t have time to go there.
It’s been weeks for me since my last cafe hoping with my bff. Sometimes, people like me needs some chillax and me time after almost two weeks of doing quite an exhausting yet satisfying project. After spending some of my time alone, I asked my bff to accompany me to a coffee shop that opened like at the end of 2015 and it located near my house but I never bothered to come by until last Saturday. It’s called Ottoman’s Coffee Brewers. From the outside, the logo and that tosca colored wall looks very stylish and contemporary.
Last Saturday was a sleepy day, I was sleeping like 10 hours then I also took a nap. Anyway, to make myself out of the blue, I called my bestie to join me for afternoon coffee, more like evening coffee though. We went to Baywalk Garden and visited Coffee Kulture. I honestly shocked to see there was a tunnel below the Baywalk Mall. I didn’t know it, i was so late. To find it, you have to take the escalator down from the lobby to the ATM place. Then you’ll see signs how to reach the Baywalk Garden.
Hey guys, this weekend I was spending my time with my best friend. Last year, we were not the type of people that would enjoy extra miles just to find food, but this year, we would like to try to enjoy that extra miles and try something we never tasted before; far from our home. Our destination for this past weekend was Food Fighters. I know we were like so late, but this is a new thing for us, so I would like to tell you guys how we think about this place.
